Noctara emerges from stealth to build autonomous aircraft for India's defence

The company unveiled four aircraft and the Noctis autonomy stack that flies them, all designed and built in India.

GOA, India. Noctara Aerospace today introduced itself as a developer of autonomous aircraft and mission autonomy software for defence and national security, with a portfolio of four platforms spanning long-endurance surveillance, vertical lift, counter-drone defence and collaborative air combat.

The company was founded on the belief that the next generation of military aircraft will be autonomous, numerous and affordable, and that India should design and build them rather than import them.

All Noctara platforms run the Noctis autonomy stack, a common software core that handles navigation, perception, mission planning and multi-aircraft coordination. Because the software is shared, capability developed for one aircraft transfers to every other.

Noctara is headquartered in Goa, where it designs, manufactures and flight-tests its aircraft.
